Sunday Adventures at Kritsa Gorge: A Hike, A Drone, and A Lot of Laughter

This past Sunday, we decided to tackle Kritsa Gorge—a stunning slice of nature that promised breathtaking views and the perfect chance to try out our brand-new drone camera. The hike was a dream: towering cliffs, dramatic landscapes, and a trail that kept us on our toes (sometimes literally, as we avoided some rather questionable rocks).

Enter the drone: sleek, shiny, and ready to take our photography game to the next level. Or so we thought. Turns out, flying a drone in a gorge comes with its own set of challenges. Between the occasional wind gusts, curious birds, and our somewhat creative piloting skills, our drone’s debut quickly became a comedy show. Picture this: one of us yelling “It’s too close to the cliff!” while the other frantically waved their hands like that would somehow help. Spoiler alert: it didn’t.

The result? A mix of stunning aerial shots and a few videos of the drone crashing into things (don’t worry, it survived—barely). Despite the mishaps, we managed to capture some beautiful views and even a group of hikers who kindly posed for us while pretending not to laugh at our struggles.

All in all, it was an unforgettable day filled with great views, plenty of laughs, and a solid reminder that mastering drone photography might take more than one hike. Next time, we’re bringing a backup battery—and maybe a drone operator’s manual.
